Yes, i do agree with the selections. Although, some of these commercials were not humorous; they were all worth watching. The expected humorous commercials interest many people who may not regularly be football fans. People love to sit down and laugh at the commercials. Personally, from a consumer's point of view it doesn't effect me much more than any other commercials. However, it may effect other's in many different ways. They are marketing new products thanks to the technological advances. Also, due to technology businesses have many different ways of advertising their products. They can put them on pop up ads on computers, or on apps that you would access through mobile devices.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree with what you said. I, myself am not affected by the commercials and all that they try to promote. It's fun to watch them because it adds humor and fun to the Super Bowl. I also see a lot of pop up ads once the Super bowl is over because advertisers want to keep them fresh in our minds.
DeleteI agree with the selections. Watching the commercials played during the super bowl has always been a good time to me. Even though my family is not necessarily into football, we always make the super bowl into a party, just since that tends to be American “tradition”.
ReplyDeleteSome people may not think of it in the same way, however, I believe the commercials that are played also give the super bowl game itself a specific title. The game represents the commercials and the commercials represent the game. Personally I have never been more enticed to buy something based on a company’s super bowl commercial, but when emotions are intense from the game and it’s all around a good time, aren't those commercials going to make you feel good too? Thus enhancing the experience.
Nowadays, the best advertising is whatever you can do to make the consumer feel good. If they feel good and you get them in that "comfort" zone they are more likely to buy your product, if not it will at least leave a positive image in their mind which certainly will influence their future decisions. And by adding to the super bowl experience and engaging in a mass advertisement it’s a "win win" the way I look at it. And lately one thing I've noticed is some commercials are so popular that they are slipping in other companies to basically turn one successful commercial into two, maximizing marketing potential.
When it comes to liking or disliking commercials, it really is a hit or miss. For the most part, I agree with the best and worst commercials that have been selected. My favorite commercial of the Super Bowl last year was Ram Trucks "Farmers". Being I have lived on a farm my whole life this commercial had the most meaning to me.The marketing done at this game in particular makes it even more known, and heard of. I remember the day after the Super Bowl going to school and everyone would be talking about the commercials they liked the best. Marketing like this affects the consumers because it makes their products well known and gets the word out there. After watching these commercials, I can say it would be nice to have some of the things that are being markets but I don't necessarily need them. Technology has changed the marketing plan of businesses because there are so many more ways to get their product out their and heard of. Also, with the advancements in technology I feel that businesses don't have to try as hard to get products out there to be sold. It's as easy as social networking, which almost everyone has and TV commercials, which almost everyone watches.
ReplyDeleteI remember I could not wait to go to school the next day so I could hear everyone's opinions of the commercials. It was always interesting to see which person liked which commercial. I agree that even though consumers don't always get the item that is advertised, they do spread the word to other consumers that just might make that purchase.
DeleteI would have to say yes I do agree with their selection. I found all of the commercials got their message across and I enjoyed them. It allows for no break from the TV! Normally you get up and take breaks from the TV during commercials but you can not sacrifice missing any of the brilliant commercials. After the Doritos commercials I usually get a craving for them. I feel that technology has changed marketing in the sense that their are so many different ways to market their product whether through TV, smart phone, or tablet. When I log into Facebook the adds that are posted are things that i have recently searched for on the web. I feel that those are advancements in marketing and advertising.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you on the no break from your television. I find myself eager for the next set of commercials rather than the next play during the Superbowl. The only time I feel I get up is when the commercials displayed Oreo and Dorito ads!
DeleteWith their selections of the best and worst commercial, I would say I do agree with their selections. When it comes to the commercials I would have to say that more people look forward to them than the game. The people behind these commercials put so much time and effort in to making sure they can get people to like them and to like their product. It really ends up drawing people away from the actual game and more towards the commercials. When I see these commercials, I am honestly not drawn into wanting them or having a craving. Technology has changed the commercials by adding more contrast to color and adding music that puts people in the mood. Other ways that market companies keep advertising their commercials is showing them even after the Super Bowl is done.
ReplyDeleteI would have to agree with just about everyone else that all the commercials were worth watching. Yet there was those few that really catch your attention and there were others that you wish you wouldn't have watched all together. Since more people talk more about what commercials will be used during this Superbowl, I think that it draws people towards them rather than the game. I never hear my family talking about who is playing only what surprises the commercials might have in store. With the abundance of the commercials, I think that it draws the consumer in so that they buy or even look into the product. Usually when food commercials come on I crave what food they might be advertising. Technology has definitely improved the quality of the commercials, there are more ways to emphasize the product then there was before recent advancements. The commercials are always showing regardless of whether or not the Superbowl is going.
