My favorite presentation was the one about sports medicine and technological advances in that field. It is my personal favorite because it relates to me so well. If I was to be injured while playing baseball, I would like to know that they are going to be able to do things that will get me healthy, and back on track. I learned that sports med. was first used in the 1920's, and also, it originated from ancient roman Greece. The presentations feel like they were too long ago for me to remember much more.
I would say my favorite was the sports health one. Why? Maybe because that’s the only one I remember. I can’t really remember the other ones so I guess this one caught my eye the most. I learned all the new advanced technology trying to help athletes improve their physical condition. Also I learned that technology has helped athletes heal more efficiently and faster. I also learned about some key people who helped put it all together, and the physical physicians that help the athletes.
My favorite presentation was about the company Epic. I think this was my favorite because I had never heard of this before. I learned a lot of information in the short amount of time given. I learned that this company is based out of Wisconsin, and I learned that it is a medical software company founded by Judith R. Faulkner. Epic's market focus is on medical care. Epic's headquarters are take up a massive amount of space, and has a huge impact economically in the town it is located in.
My favorite presentation was the one Eric did on Epic. I thought it was neat on how they are advancing the way people can access medicare through the internet. Five interesting things that I learned from the presentations was how wifi evolved and how in the future there will be easier access to it. I learned even from my own presentation I did with Kelcie and Madison and that is the new technology that is coming out to help better athletes and reduce the risk of them getting a life-long injury. I, myself, like history so seeing that sports medicine originated from ancient Rome and Greece was pretty cool. From the presentation that was done on solar energy, I found that it's a money saver and is a substitute for electricity. The last thing is solar energy could be the new form of electricity in the future.
I would say my favorite presentation was Epic, presented by Eric. I have never heard of it before so everything he informed us was something I never knew before. Epic, from my understanding was some form of medical care that you could sign for online. I cant truly remember all that was brought up because I can't remember that far back, but his presentation on Epic really wanted me to go look more into it myself to find out more about it. The next presentation I enjoyed learning about was how Wi-Fi was started up. It was so interesting because using Wi-Fi is a huge part of my life with my cell phone. I learned that it only covers about 20 meters, which are known as hotspots, but with further technology advancements, Wi-Fi will be spread out throughout the globe.
The presentation I most enjoyed was the one about Technology advancements in sports and medicine. I found it to be very educational and I could relate to the topic because I can relate to it. There are a lot of injuries in the sports world and especially in hockey. I find it interesting to learn about how actually does a body recover from injuries and how sport and medicine trainer do it. I also enjoyed learning about the history and how it was used in way back in ancient greece.
The hearing aid presentation I felt was also very educational and interesting. I learned that the hearing aid used the same technology that is in the telephone. I learned that they have made hearing aids that water proof. The research about the technology in restoring a humans hearing that was already tested and worked on gerbils is really interesting to me and would be a huge breakthrough. The presentation was very easy to relate to because of just how often people use hearing aids, obviously generally more "old" people than young use them but we all know someone who needs them or has them.
My favorite presentation from Wednesday was the one on hearing aids. The main reason why I enjoyed this one is because my younger sister has hearing aids and I thought it was neat to learn more about them in greater detail. Some interesting things I learned was that hearing aids used the same technology as the telephone, there are waterproof and dirt proof hearing aids. Some of the most common used hearing aids right now can be affected by sweat off of people that can damage them. There is always new technology coming out to improve and better the people who use hearing aids. I thought this was a very interesting and good presentation and I very much enjoyed listening to it.
My favorite presentation from Wednesday would be Natasha's Organized Crime and Technology. I never really put the two together and I felt as if I learned a lot of information in just a short amount of time. I thought it was crazy the organized crime had been around for three thousand years, when I thought it first began during the prohibition. It was also very interesting to find out that the Russian Mafia was the leader when it came to cyber organized crime. I just never put much though in it. This presentation was very intriguing!
My favorite presentation was "Organized Crime and Technology" by Natasha. I found it interesting to take a closer look into some of the most high-tech thefts of the modern era. Especially with all the fuss about privacy these day it really is a eye opener.
